Lt Col (Retd) GE (C) Leigh Jackson RE
Leigh spent 38 years serving in the Royal Engineers from Sapper to Lt Col. He is an Infrastructure specialist, with a particular focus on Facility Management. He has extensive operational experience worldwide serving in all of the recent conflicts until his retirement from the Army in 2017. He continues to work in the Defence sector as a Project Manager delivering support to the MoD in the Middle East.
Leigh wants to shape the future of our community. He is committed to the needs of the residents of Croydon and the progression of their fortunes, through his enthusiastic support of Local Charity Croydon Commitment.
Steve Palmer BSc (Hons) MRICS FCABE C.Build E
Steve spent 11 years as a soldier in the Royal Green Jackets leaving as a sergeant. After completing a degree is Building Surveying Steve worked in both private practice and for social housing providers. Elected a Member of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers in 2003 and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers in 2021. Steve's wide experience (including as a sought after expert) incorporated most aspects of property and construction.
Steve was an adult instructor with the Army Cadet Force for some years and since retiring has been a volunteer caseworker with SSAFA, The Armed Forces Charity.
